Strengthened Within

Week 6 Day 32

Walking in the Light

Scripture

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

1 John 1:7 · · ESV

After a long day of traveling, I finally get to the hotel room. The lighting in the room is soft and dim. I drop my suitcase, sit down for a moment, and everything feels fine.

But then I walk into the bathroom where the lights are much brighter and catch my reflection in the mirror. Suddenly I notice things I didn’t see before—tired eyes from the long day, wind-tangled hair, even a smudge or two from the trip.

Nothing about me changed in that moment.

The light simply revealed what was already there.

God’s light works in much the same way.

John reminds us that when we walk in God’s light, we experience real connection with one another and forgiveness through Jesus. His light helps us see our lives more clearly.

Walking in the light isn’t about perfection.

It’s about living honestly before God and trusting that Christ’s grace is always ready to forgive and help us begin again.

Sometimes God’s light reveals things I would rather ignore. But His light never comes to shame us—it comes to heal and restore.

Perhaps today there is something God is quietly bringing into the light for you as well.

Take a quiet moment today and ask God if there is anything in your life He wants to gently bring into the light.

Prayer

Lord, help me walk in Your light today. Show me what I need to see and remind me that You are always ready to forgive.

Return. Rest. Quiet. Trust.
