Strengthened Within

Week 7 Day 36

When Love Is Turned Away

Scripture

Then one of the twelve, whose name was Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, “What will you give me if I deliver him over to you?” And they paid him thirty pieces of silver.

Matthew 26:14-15 · · ESV

There are days I tell myself I don’t have time…
for a conversation,
for prayer,
for something I know is needed.

And yet somehow, I find time for everything else.

I can manage to fill a whole day with good things…
and still miss the most important ones.

And Scripture shows a moment like that…

a quiet decision that changed everything.

Judas made the selfish decision to turn Jesus over to the chief priests for personal gain. Later, when he betrays his Teacher and Lord with a single kiss, he regrets the dark path he chose.

I think about how that happens in small ways for me.

I choose what’s easier.

What fits my schedule.

What I feel like doing.

And Jesus gets pushed to the side.

I don’t walk away from Him.

But I don’t always choose Him either.

And when I notice…

I turn back.

And He welcomes me.

Today, notice where your time and attention go.
Is there a small moment where you can choose Him first?

Prayer

Lord, help me notice where I’ve been choosing other things, and gently turn my heart back to You.

Return. Rest. Quiet. Trust. Strength.
