Strengthened Within

Week 7 Day 38

When Love Says Yes

Scripture

“Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”

Luke 22:42 · · ESV

I have had moments in my life that felt heavy.
A child who was sick.
Relationships that felt complicated.
Work that didn’t go the way I had hoped.

Moments where I wanted things to be different.

When the path in front of me feels hard…

I find myself asking God to change it.

To make it easier.

To take it away.

And then I think about Jesus in the garden…He knew exactly what was ahead of Him.

The pain.

The loneliness.

The weight of all our sins.

He was alone. He was scared.

He said, “If there is another way…”

And then,

“Not my will… but Yours be done.”

He prayed. He cried out to God. And then He accepted His path.

And I realize…

how quickly I try to manipulate the hard things in my life.

I delay. I avoid.

I hope my situation will change.

But He didn’t.  He faced it.

Jesus said “thy will”…

not because it was easy,

but because it was right.

Today, take your hardest thing.
Just bring it to Him
and sit there for a moment.

Prayer

Lord, when I want another way,
help me trust Yours.
Return. Rest. Quiet. Trust. Strength.
