Strengthened Within

Week 7 Day 39

Knowing Everything

Scripture

For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel,
“In returning and rest you shall be saved;
in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”
But you were unwilling.

Isaiah 30:15 · · ESV

There are moments I know what is right…
and I just don’t do it.

I don’t say something I should say.
I don’t extend my hand to someone in need.
I choose what’s easier and move on.
And I don’t think much about it.

And then I lift my eyes to the cross.

Rough.

Splintered.

Dark with blood.

Jesus knew exactly what was coming.

He knew the whip would tear His flesh.

He knew thorns would press into His skull.

He knew His lungs would fight for air.

He knew how it would end.

And He still went through with it.

I avoid things that are uncomfortable all the time. I talk myself out of hard things.

He didn’t.

Knowing everything…

He went through all of it…

for me.

That’s the part I can’t get past.

Not JUST that He suffered…

but that He suffered knowing all the times I would fail.

I don’t fully understand that kind of love.

But I know I need it. I need His strength.

“In repentance and rest is your salvation,

in quietness and trust is your strength.”

Isaiah 30:15

At His cross, I find my salvation.

In Him, I rest.

I trust.

I find quietness.

And in Him I begin to find Strength.

Prayer

Lord…
I don’t have much to offer today.
Just this—
thank You.
